The moment you push the gear lever into +/- gate, dash indicator would actually show which gear you were in, i.e. 3. As you shifted up or down (gear lever of wheel paddles), dash would show a number indicating which gear you were in. Pushing lever back into auto gate - D shows on the dash.
Car is a 2008 Mk4 Mondeo, 2.0 TDCI. 205000 miles. and can do module reset operations that might even clear the lock-up that the ECU may have got itself into
Well thanks for all your help Auto electrician came out today and solved the problem, It was the Private lock Shorting ( thats the lock between number plate lights) disconnect that and it open by switch in car need to get new one fit it and then key fob should work took him 2 hours to find fault but at least its sorted :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :) :) :) :) :) :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Having just brought a Mondeo tit x with some of the normal problems then I thought I would share the fixes with you as I go along 1. Driver door electric window,folding mirror, rear window, central locking won't work. The passenger door lock on my Mondeo MK4 has failed. There are dedicated door lock repair kits like this for 拢30, but if all you want to replace are the internal parts you can buy an ignition barrel repair kit for 拢20 and use the parts from that. This pic shows the small rod that often causes the issue.
Mondeo mk4 rear passenger door no power to window or door lock. door will not open, lock button stays depressed. I suspect this is what flattened the battery. The drivers door recently sporadically kept "unlocking" whilst driving, I disconnected and reconnected the cables between the door and the body of the car and that problem stopped. This also resolved a problem I had with getting the front driver side window to close, sometimes I had to open the door and close it to get the close button to take
96 door lock problems - far0n : The drivers side door lock on my 96 fiesta has developed an annoying problem. It'll lock, but won't unlock. My 95 Mondeo had exactly the same problem not long back so I'm thinking this must be quite common with Ford door locks. My red key doesn't work either. So easy to put this in the manual so why not do it. It is the switch on the drivers door that controls the child locks, as stated its the same switch that disable the rear elec window. It's located on the switches around the electric mirror controls, when you press it you will hear a clunk. CyRx.
