My X1 (2016) bought a month ago, replaced my X3 (2007) that never went heater down, even at -35c who knows! Experienced the same thing last week, when temp dropped below 0c. Only MaxDefrost (top left up corner on temp setting) was working (top speed) ! Talked to BMW tech, said may be battery was weak and passed on protective way, shutting No. You may have a slight amount of natural circulation of coolant if the engine is hot but I doubt you'd notice it in any way. ii) Does the heater control valve circulate coolant to and from the heater core with the engine off. No. The valve being open will not circulate coolant unless the pump is running.
I have a BMW e91 2009 381d. When i start the car the unit doesn't load up my existing music collection and doesn't recognize any CD or DVD. It is all greyed out. The music collection that i have loaded up first says in grey "Please wait" This lasts for 5 minutes then it says "No entries". When i put in a USB stick it doesn't recognize it

So i have a 2009 BMW 318i Se N43 Engine. The heating only works out of the very far left vent of the passenger side. Ive flushed the radiator, heater core and the whole system. I had a new thermostat installed but not sure how well that was done. The air comes out freezing cold on the drivers side and doesnt matter what setting it is on.
HOW TO ACTIVATE TEST WATER PUMP ON BMW E90 E91 E92 E93 E60 E61 Our Website: http://mechaniclifestyle.com We use original bmw coolant only:
It is very important that the coolant system is refilled and bled correctly to remove any air pockets. Not properly purging the system of air can cause the engine to overheat. Fortunately the BMW E90 has an automated coolant bleeding system that makes the process very easy. Always use Genuine BMW Anti-Freeze/Coolant mixed 50/50 with distilled
Install oil level sensor into oil pan. Tighten three 10mm nuts and reconnect electrical connector. Fill engine with oil. Start engine and allow to run for 1 minute. Then inspect oil level sensor for leaks. Once you are sure no leaks are present, reinstall plastic splash shields. Upload a Photo: Choose a file.
The easiest way is to remove the steering wheel and compare it to a car that has steering wheel heat. 2. Assuming your X7 is pre-wired for steering wheel heat (and you obtain a heated steering wheel) you will need to get your car coded to "turn on" the steering wheel heat feature in the X7's software. The above steps are somewhat simplified
I just got my car two days ago (F30 328d) and I was showing the car off to a buddy and voila! couldn't open the trunk with the fob or with the button down to the left of the dash. I'm assuming it's the magical valet switch in the glove compartment and will check that out tomorrow. It is in the F30 manual on page 41.

After some investigation I realised the little metal pin on the wiper assembly that bridges the gap between the split rear window and the rear door was to short to reach the slot it should be in so the wiper was not moving. With some pliers I pulled the pin out someone and hey presto everything worked fine. Then later it stopped again and the its probably the ac fan behind the glove box. Mine did it then eventually I got fedup and replaced the fan. It has one torx scew and a tab you need to lift and twist to remove it. You can get ither a fan with or without the power module. The fans center shaft can rust overtime and just fail after a spell of noise.
2016 bmw x1 Noticing no heat the last couple of days. Its cold and wet in Seattle. Nothing crazy has happened, but the heat just doesnt work. It blows cold air. I saw online with quick search it could be the blower motor or the blower motor resistor. Not sure… it blows strong but just no heat. Just kinda weird.

At the speed of 60km/37 mph temp = 54C/129.2F. At the speed of 120kmh/75 mph temp = 58C/136.4F. In this case temp didn't matter much. If I was stopped for a minute and coolant temp stated 54C, the heat was better than steadily moving at 60 km/h. Even at 120 km/h when coolant temp 58C it was pointless to turn the fan on..
